Program Evaluation

Education Policy Research conducts assessments of a project’s implementation (formative evaluation) and its success in achieving its goals (summative evaluation). Our commitment as evaluators is to help ensure the success of a project. Our evaluation design reflects a collaborative and participatory approach. It emphasizes the active engagement of project leadership, staff, collaborators, and participants in the refinement of the evaluation plan, collection of data, data analysis, and particularly in its interpretation. This produces evaluation results that are meaningful to clients, stakeholders, and program staff. Our evaluations employ both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods. This provides both breadth and depth to the evaluation process. Emphasis is also placed on non-intrusive data collection approaches to minimize resistance to data collection on the part of project leadership, staff, and participants. We are committed to communicating evaluation findings and recommendations in a timely and useful manner. Formative evaluation findings and recommendations are often communicated in email or phone conversations on a regular basis to project leadership. This ensures that project implementation proceeds in an appropriate and succesful manner. EPR also documents its conclusions, findings, and recommendations through written reports for our clients. We are constantly explore new and better ways to communicate and support our clients in effectively evaluating their programs.
